formerly Supper at the Sally

At BCDT, we are proud to support Community Suppers Burntisland, a project that has become a much-loved part of community life. Between November 2024 and March 2025, thanks to a fantastic team of 25 volunteers, more than 500 hot, home-cooked meals were served on Saturday evenings at the Salvation Army Hall.

The suppers run on a Pay As You Can basis, ensuring that everyone can enjoy good food and company without worrying about cost. They provide a warm, welcoming space at the darkest time of the year, reducing isolation and strengthening community connections.

This project wouldn’t be possible without the backing of the community, local businesses, and funders including Fife Council, Warmer Spaces, Go Fibre, and Forth Ports. We are also proud to provide training opportunities for our volunteers, including seven young people who gained experience and completed their Saltire Awards.

Highlights of the season included special evenings such as Burns Night, with our enthusiastic cook Sonia and the volunteer team serving up delicious meals and creating memorable community events.

Most importantly, the suppers are for everyone. We aim to bring people together—sharing food, skills, and friendship. The suppers will return in winter 2025, and we warmly invite all in Burntisland to join us on Saturdays from 5pm to 6.30pm at the Salvation Army Hall.
